The approach:
  1. Setting physical training into a higher context
  2. Incorporating the elements into training 
  3. Using science. 
  4. Varying activity: I use a triathlon base with a Concept2 rower filling in for swim time
  5. Incorporating an element of surprise
  6. Practising relaxation 
  7. Cultivating the centre point - Misogi
  8. Not being a bore about it at parties!

The underlying basis is one of Shugyo.

Boxing Day 2011

Good Boxing day morning run. Sessions on the Concept 2 have left stiff ankles and a slight pull on my back, but overall am really pleased with the rowing and the ability to monitor power output.

Early morning row

Playing myself gently into the rowing and following the peter plan. Nice easy row at 5 am, concentrating on technique.

Concept 2 E

Took delivery of my Concept2 rowing machine yesterday, so will be able to add a bit more variety into my triathlon schedule this winter.
